We urgently need your help for the children and families of the Diksha program

Ajmer has emerged as a hotspot and red zone. A huge number of people have lost their sources of income and are struggling to make ends meet. With 700,000 migrant labourers expected to return back to Rajasthan, the situation is bound to get even more desperate soon. 

42nd consecutive day of confinement 

The 2nd extension has been declared from 4th May to 17th May. The border of the Ajmer district was already sealed a month before. The administration has acquired 21 hotels, 7 colleges, 8 schools & 3 hostels, and handed them over to the health department for dedicated COVID health centre and/ or quarantine facilities.  

Curfew

Strict curfew has been imposed in areas which are severely affected, and police is positioned at every 100 meters with barricades. The residents of these areas are not allowed to go out of their home & policemen are delivering basic food items to them. 
In all Ajmer fear of infection has forced many residents to lock themselves in their homes. No public transport, no private car, no motorbikes are allowed. The streets and pathways are deserted, vegetable and grocery supplies are extremely limited, and disruption of daily life is severe.

Families and children

is continually working for the poor of the poorest. So far 18957 people and 6224 families have been helped by us during the lockdown. We are distributing a freshly cooked meal to now 300 people on a daily basis and have also started distributing apart from packed grocery kits (5 kg wheat flour, 2 kg rice, 1 litre vegetable oil, lentils, spices, tea, soaps & washing powder), face masks & hand sanitizers in rural as well as in urban areas and PPE (personal protective equipment) kits to the police.
